07/20/2005: "A time of plans hatched and hacheted."

I finally got my laptop, so now I can write to you with the added convenience of not having to bike down to the internet cafe and stand in line behind a girl who, despite being named "Moonbeam", knows every curse word in the book when you remind her her time is up.
I've decided to write a biography of each of my roommates, starting with Chestnut. I'm on chapter six, entitled "Summer Camp: A spot in my heart where the sunshine got lost." I'm trying to draw a connection between a pantsing incident Chestnut suffered at an archery tournament and Chestnut's spotty dating record. I told Tumble to prepare material for his biography and he returned with a list of TV shows he remembers and the number of times he's woken up on a golf course (Spoiler Alert: 3 times). Chestnut has suggested that I write an autobiography about growing up adopted, but I don't know if I'm ready to tackle that. After all, what is work for if it isn't to divert one's mind from its hellbent path towards despair?

All the best,

-F
